Flight 2 - Sito Moresco - blend (1 Note)

  • 2009 Gaja Langhe Sito Moresco 89 Points

    Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Langhe DOC

Even though the Nebbiolo is only a third of the blend – it dictates the wine color - ruby with hints of orange. Nice, not complex nose mostly fruits and alcohol. Nice medium body, fruity in the palate, round and well balanced. I remembered it as a more complex and interesting wine (52$)

  • 2005 Poderi Aldo Conterno Barolo 89 Points

    Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo

A basic Barolo, not more then that. The nose was typical – ripe fruits mixed with flowers, even though a bit alcoholic. In the mouth it was disappointing – light bodied, tannic and a bit hollow, with a bitter after taste. May be the components will integrate more nicely with time ? (82$)
