Dark color, barely garnet rim. Red fresh fruit, bloody cooked meat, smokiness. On palate is still very tannic, astringent, tannins very noticiable, high acidity, ripe red fruit, candy on palate. Long finish with a bit of biterness. This will last for so long and may end as the best vintage so far. Hold. 91+
Dark color. More subtle than previous vintages. Red berries, cassis, cinnamon. On palate is smooth, wood barely noticiable, still a bit tannic yet way more approachable than 07, medium acidity, sweet and overall quite smooth ans easier to drink. Nice balance. Drink or hold.
Bottle sample prior to release. Quite reductive on nose... animal scent, fruity, smoke. On palate is surprisingly smooth, elegant, fruity, medium to full bodied, a bit astringent and more powerful at end palate, right acidity, quite mineral. This should show well right on release and even better a couple of years after. 90+
Just bottled. A non commercial release bottled in magnum format. This wine is made from one of the Demencia parcels but vinfied slighty different.. no early pruning and just aged 9 months in barrel... and boy what a wine!!!! It has a medium ruby color, on nose it's overwhelming floral, a subtle perfume of red rose petals but with such an intensty that blows you away. On palate its medium bodied, glyceric, smooth, with red, mineral and a wow long finish. Great effort.
Dark ruby color, brownish rim. On nose it shows balsamic like eucalipthus, clove, garrigue. Red ripe fruit, smoke, milky... so much a pleasure nose. On palate is smooth, no hard edges, right acidity, fruity, pepper, candy and a long finish. Great mencia although this is right now as it good as it gets from all these few vintages, it showed a bit evolved and maybe won't have as much life ahead as expected. Still, I myself feel lucky to be able to taste one of the few bottles left from this great first effort. 92-93. If you are lucky to hold any of these, drink now.
