1999-2007 Grenache Pairs

From Organizer:
Tonight, we'll try pairs of Grenache-dominated wines from four different vintages, 1999, 2000, 2003 and 2007. The wines also cover four different regions around the world: Chateauneuf du Pape (2), California (Sierra Foothills and Bennett Valley), Spain (Campo de Borja and Calatayud), and Australia (Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale). Each pair from a vintage will include wines from two different regions, allowing us to compare the different faces of Grenache and how they evolve over time.

  Groups #3, my #7. Not much nose; maybe a hint of dust and raisins.
  Lot of fruit flavor though, young juicy cherry, pepper, very fruit forward and easy drinking.
