Introduction
The Verein deutscher Prädikatsweingüter celebrated its centenary in 2010. These are notes from the tasting prior to the sale at Kloster Eberbach on 25.9.2010. By their very nature (the event is very popular and the room is very crowded) the notes are very concise. There were 50 wines on show, I managed to make notes on 27 of them.

220 Oechsle, harvested at minus 17.5 C. Poured by Christian Witte personally. Magnificent Eiswein. Sweetness and acidity cancel each other out into virtual weightlessness. Magical.

Totally effortless, a magisterial wine. Nothing can touch it. Incredible sweetness and soaring acidity cancel each other out into virtual weightlessness. This wine leaves the drinker speechless.
