Recently PURPLE and myself flew to Oahu to attend the wedding of my niece I helped care for after my mother passed. While on the island we had the pleasure of being able to offline with the Hawaiian Wine-Os. haggis, 1kailuaboy, tylerhi and Mike were all kind enough to meet us on a week night for good wines, great food and fantastic companionship. It was a true joy to spend time with everybody and many thanks to each one for taking time out of their busy schedule to meet up with us.
Now onto the wines. Please bear in mind I typed all of these up from memory.

2007 Domaine de la Janasse Châteauneuf-du-Pape 94 Points
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
WIML94
Tasted non blind at a wine dinner. Opened several hours earlier and followed over the course of the evening.
Garnet to perhaps dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of berries, cherries, flowers and mixed spices. Flavors of berries, cherries, chewy red currants and luscious plums. Medium to bright acidity, medium tannins, full bodied. Normally I’d withhold a rating on such a young wine clearly need of more time in the cellar but this wine is as best as I can guess right now in the WIML94 range. Something special that can still be sought out if desired.
