All barnyard poo on first pour. Then the funk gives way to dark cherry, wild blackberry and wild blueberry. The acidity is still present and the tannins are pure velvet. Leather, tobacco and a real sense of place. I believe this is my fourth bottle from this vintage and today's was the first one which has been mind blowing.

Coffee, black tea, camphor, menthol, provencal herbs and a little heat on the nose. Rich dark fruits and great balance. Lots of kirsch. Rich mouthfeel and long finish. Two other tasters scored 97 and 99 so I went with the middle. Simply amazing bottle.
Triple bonged and decanted for two and a half hours. Triton, get your spear--this is a beast. Really showed lots of Syrah today. It softened some in the glass. Rich dark fruits, massive tannins. The score was unanimous.
Didn't get the expected "dust" on this one but a very pleasant Napa Cab. Nice mix of black and blue fruits with decent acidity. A little blank on the midpalate but finished well. Tannins are very smoothly integrated.
2008 Peay Vineyards Viognier Estate 93 Points
USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast
Apricot kernel, D'Anjou pear, a little anise, white peach skin. Finishes with mouthwatering acidity. Love it more than any Condrieu I've had.

1990 Château Latour Grand Vin 98 Points

2003 Neal Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford Dust 90 Points

Didn't get the expected "dust" on this one but a very pleasant Napa Cab. Nice mix of black and blue fruits with decent acidity. A little blank on the midpalate but finished well. Tannins are very smoothly integrated.
