Pale golden colour. Somewhat coppery, metallic nose, with some notes of yeast and apricot. Not particularly brilliant on the palate, this is light on its feet and quite pleasant, but lacking concentration. Slightly metallic flavours again on the palate.
Slight tinge of green. Lots of gasoline on the nose, ripe yellow stone fruit; already smells slightly cloying. On the palate this has somewhat of a greasy texture, reminiscent of a Rhone white. Waxy texture, coating the tongue and preventing any of scant acidity from getting through. Refreshingly mineral, but it really needs some acidity. Slightly bitter finish.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Richebourg Grand Cru
Aromas of earthy dark fruit, a little bit of iron oxide. Quite dense and concentrated on the palate, with a flavour profile that matches the nose. Some fruity sweetness is present as well, and compliments the fading and resolved tannins. Great drink.
Inky purple. Charred leather, deep red fruit, and a very ripe but Bordelais nose. On the palate, great balance between the secondary characteristics and fresh but dark red fruit. Lovely, unresolved tannins. Youthful, with lots of balance A smoky and leathery finish. Very well made.
Quite an animalistic nose, with some notes of barnyard funk. Very austere on the palate, with no sweetness whatsoever. Tastes hollow, just a boatload of acid; I'm led to believe something is amiss here. Not scored.
