Tasted blind, half of the group guessed that this was a Zinfandel blend and the other half guessed it was a very young, out of balance Bordeaux. lots of heat on the nose and palate, with utterly dry gripping tannins. Kind of a mess.
tasted blind, most immediately said "Chilean cabernet." Crazy sweet nose, which faded a little with swirling but could never really get rid of it. Also sweet and cloying on the palate. Surely this will get a little better with time but I doubt any amount of time will fix what's wrong here.
tasted blind; had been decanted 2 hours after cork crumbled on opening. lovely cedar closet nose; a bit of heat on the palate - especially on the finish. very dry in the mouth.
tasted blind, one of the best of the night. The flavor profile is appropriate for a BDX but the real story here is the rich, full, all-over pleasing mouthfeel. This is a wine for those who appreciate the texture as much as or more than the flavors. Definitely a winner for my palate.
