dzop came over to share a bottle after work. The first one was bad. The second one was bad. The third one was bad. The fourth one was bad. The fifth one was OK, although he said he was sure it was corked. At least I cleared out some cellar space.

Turned to vinegar. Presumably poorly stored.

1988 Castello di Ama Chianti Classico Vigneto La Casuccia Flawed
Italy, Tuscany, Chianti, Chianti Classico DOCG
Bottle had a low fill and the cork was soaked through, although it came out with a pop. This wine was just completely watery and empty. I imagine it was mistreated at some point in its life.

2008 Two Hands Cabernet Sauvignon Some Days Are Diamonds 82 Points

Sickly sweet boysenberry syrup. Could confuse for cough medicine. Why oh why did I buy a second bottle of this?

1996 Château Cantemerle 88 Points
France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Haut-Médoc
Crimson, fairly opaque. Herbal, woody nose, without much fruit. Very good suave mouthfeel with mostly resolved tannin--right in its drinking window. But there's a sourness running through the palate, and the lack of fruit leaves it a bit hollow and disjointed. My fellow taster said this was lightly corked, but I couldn't detect it.
