Refined traditional method sparkler. Fine mousse, refreshing, mild autolytic character. Apparently Rivetti/La Spinetta started working in the cellars of this producer in 2007, and have now taken full ownership.
Favorite of the tasting. Spicy and floral with a mix of dried and fresh fruits. Big, structured, yet elegant with refinement to the tannins. Long finish.
Lots going on, but a bit brash. Showing ripe red fruits with minerality, big nose. Elegant palate with refined tannins. Feeling a bit unintegrated--oak showed on the finish though this was aged in large barrels. Sporadic heat pops up.
Huge wine, brawny. The nose is heavy on the spice along the lines of the Cavalotto, yet is darker and richer. Powerful tannins, very young with loads of stuffing. Aromatically complex, yet the palate is not showing much evolution. Close 2nd for me.
Similar to '07 Vajra in tasting, almost jammy, not integrated. A little heat. Big wine, ripe, open. Not particularly complex, but it is quite young. Big tannins, lots of raw material.
Stated at 5% ABV, light weight, sweet of course and enjoyable to drink. Typical muscat aromas of jasmine and nectar. Love this style of sticky as it's never ponderous or syrupy. Simple and fun.
