    I picked up some jalapeno pepper this time. This has become the house sauvignon blanc. Always a crowd-pleaser.

  • 2010 Daniel Bouland Morgon Corcelette 90 Points

    This is what Cru Beaujolais is all about. Daniel Bouland is an artist with the gamay grape. And in 2010 he produced some amazing wines. This is just one of them, and it's a beauty. Clear, bright ruby color in the glass. Aromas are fresh and lively: strawberry reduction, violet, hints of smoke. The palate is bright and fresh, with pure cherry and strawberry fruit, fine-grained tannins and beautiful acid. On top of that, there's this sensation of drinking fresh mineral water, like the stuff gushing out of a rock. This wine is beautiful at this time, and I think it would be really interesting to age a few of these for five to ten years. Wonerdful stuff, and it made for a damned good Wednesday night.

  • 1997 Grant Burge The Holy Trinity Flawed

    Damn. I was looking forward to this because last year it was one of the biggest surprises. Just beautiful. This is oxidized. I got it off Winebid.com, but when I opened the box this wine had some stain on the capsule. I left the bottle alone for a while, forgot about it, then popped it tonight for some friends. It must've gotten messed up in the mail because it had been leaking and was totally oxidized. Damn!
