  • 2010 Bodegas Bocopa Merlot Barrica Heredad de Almizra 83 Points

    Spain, Valencia

    Decanted for an hour, tasted double blind. A fairly dark purple. The nose is fairly bland, agreeable dark berries like cassis, a slight hint of vanillary oak in the background. The palate was also rather innocuous, fruity, but not sweet. Would be a good party wine.

    Decanted for an hour, tasted double blind. WTF?! Pure black currant juice, on the nose and the palate. Maybe some essence of rasberry. What is this?? Smells and tastes like a "wine" made from black currants. Blech.
