Well coloured deep lemon gold. Highly aromatic; kerosene with a vegetal back note. A touch of syrup. Lemon sherbet flavours. Racy acidity for a 20 yr old wine. Very strong mid palate; rich, ripe, red apple fruit. Tastes sweet but definitely dry to off dry. Amazingly fresh for its age. Long.

A tale of 2 different bottles. First smelt faulty; oxidised. Second had aromas of toffee apples and vegetal minerality. First tasted of sour apples. Second was bright, sweet and fresh. Scored 2nd bottle.
Deep colour, very yellow. Nutty, marzipan aromas, plus stone fruit and some flinty gun smoke. Tasting very dry for a spatlese. Nutty, slightly sour, then sweetness comes thru on a very sweet lime finish.
Paler. Lemon gold. Overwhelming pungent aromas of oily rags. But also some lime and honeysuckle behind. Fresh, with rip-roaring acidity. A sublime balance of citrus fruit, residual sugar and acidity. Tastes very young and fresh.
Metallic edge to the nose. Creamy, vegetal and developed. Becomes more oily with time. Very sweet, tinned fruit in syrup. Apricots. Lacks sufficient acidity to balance the intensity of the syrupy fruit and sugar. But still v nice.
Very deep gold colour. Nutty and somewhat vegetal. Doesn't smell sweet or sugary. Palate has lovely acidity, so still has a fresh crisp feel to it. Fairly dry through the mid palate. Sweet barley sugar finish. Possesses a lot of complexity. Shows how well German Rieslings can age.
