Nick's San Clemente

After trying to find time, we finally made it to Nick's on Sunday night. Rain set the backdrop for the evening as it poured for 3 hours which didn't damped our enthusiasm for one of our favorite restaurants. We started at the bar with a cocktail waiting for our table, Nick's has very interesting mixed drinks which I'm not typically a big fan.
Chris' grilled Salmon with vegetables.
Brig's Cioppino with Salmon, Shrimp, Clams, and Mussels.
Sam's Short Ribs
Great food as always, this picture says it all.
2006 Sea Smoke Pinot Noir Southing 89 Points

Decanted for an hour and dumped back through the vinturi into the bottle for the trip to the restaurant. Nose is consistent with previous vintages but with the addition of a cedar notes. Palate is tart cherry/raspberry fruit, fairly reserve, with very aromatic cedar finish wrapped with strong acidity. While it was enjoyed by all, it's not a blockbuster by any means.
