Introduction
I had the chance to visit this winery on the Romagna hills of Cesena. Tasted all the latest production (just 1 week in bottle)

An overall production aiming at excellence. Rating affected clearly by the youngness of the wines, still new to the bottles.
A very nice reality in Romagna.
2011 Zavalloni Trebbiano Romagna 82 Points
Italy, Emilia-Romagna, Romagna
Nice straw yellow with golden tones. Almost brilliant. Intense and fine at nose, with fruit: banana and gold plum; sage; minerals.
Well balanced at taste, with a good acidity and minerality spine. Steel.
Good surprise for this varietal that usually is a bit insignificant.

2011 Zavalloni Albana di Romagna 78 Points

Light golden yellow, crystalline and consistent.
Ripe fruit at nose: gold plum and some sage. Bit flimsy.
Dry-, alcoholic (14%+) and rounded. Good acidity and minerality, but alcohol too high to be balanced.

2011 Zavalloni Sangiovese di Romagna Superiore 83 Points

Intense ruby red, with a violet rim. Consistent and crystalline.
Intense, complex and fine: Violet, cherries and cocoa (probably from yeast....no wood in this wine, only steel).
Full mouth, almost velvety with nice fruit.
Well balanced also if bottled just 1 week ago.

2009 Zavalloni Sangiovese di Romagna Superiore Solaris 83 Points

Ruby red, with purple rim. Medium intensity and complexity at nose, but fine.
Nice fruit at taste, a bit too much tanni for youngness.
A good wine, nose just sufficient.

2009 Zavalloni Cabernet Sauvignon Colli di Romagna Centrale Rubeo 78 Points

Ruby red, with violet rim.
Medium intense and complex at nose, fine,...but many hints.
Young, not very well balanced yet. Some coffee sensations and fruit.

2008 Zavalloni Sangiovese di Romagna Riserva Amedeo 85 Points

Full ruby red, crystalline and consistent.
Ripe fruit at nose and spices: vanilla, tobacco, chocolate and some balsamic herbs: Intense, complex and fine
A bit young at taste, so not very powerful and a bit unbalanced, but a very nice wine.
A selection of the best grapes. 18 months in new barriques.
Won 2011 Savignano Wine festival

Sangiovese from late vintage, then let dried until next January.
Bricky red/amber
Not very significant at nose.
Very nice at taste, with a good acidity balancing the sweetness, withour getting tired.
