Château de Gilly, Vougeot Tasted Sunday, January 24, 2010 by Xavier Auerbach with 324 views
Based on the 2005 vintage, ripe and stylish, one of the best NV's on the market.

A bit awkward right now, lacks oomph, but has sève and acidity. Wait.
Elegant and juicy 2007 but there is a raw edge to it, a little earthy too.
Clearly past its sell-by date: nutty, almost tawny-like, but certainly not dead, edgy acidity, decent length.
Bone-dry, Turkish delight, flor, oak, very distinctive (not Sherry!), freshness and sève, immense acidity, nutty length, classic VJ - an acquired taste.
