This Aussie tasting was held at the Corkscrew. All very enjoyable wine.
The WOTN was the Langmeil “Jackaman’s” Cabernet Sauvignon with the two Mitolo's as close runners up. All wines were very enjoyable.
2003 Two Hands Riesling The Wolf 89 Points
Australia, South Australia, Mount Lofty Ranges, Clare Valley
Light straw in color with flavors of honey and grapefruit with a nice backbone of acid. Solid effort.

2003 Kaesler Grenache The Fave 93 Points
Australia, South Australia, Barossa, Barossa Valley
Made from 70 year old vine granache. Dark purple in color. The nose as well as the palate are dominated by blueberry. The palate has a curvy glycerine infused character. If you love big time granache then this is the wine for you.

2001 Langmeil Cabernet Sauvignon Jackaman's 95 Points
Australia, South Australia, Barossa, Barossa Valley
Deep ruby in color with bold aromas of cherry and currant. The body adds hints of vanilla and spice. The tannins are still quite bold but managable. This is hands down the best Aussie Cab I've tasted. Will not open for another 5 years.

2003 Mitolo Shiraz G.A.M. 94 Points
Australia, South Australia, Fleurieu, McLaren Vale
This dark purple beauty diplays aromas of blue and blackberry mixed with licorice. The palate was complex and bold. The finish continued in its bold overbearing way. This is very good now but will be fantastic in 8-10 years. Tied for second place WOTN.

2003 Mitolo Shiraz Savitar 94 Points
Australia, South Australia, Fleurieu, McLaren Vale
Another bold fruit bomb of blackberry, cherry, and blueberry both on the nose as well the palate. This shows a bit more finess than its brother (G.A.M.) but it is still a young monster. Give this guy another 10 years in the cellar.
