Introduction
Had an awesome group of guys get together from the wineberserkers forum to drink some Burgundy at Tabla. I arrived a bit frazzled as I was helping my sister move all day long and barely got there on time. As a result I hadn't eaten anything all day and then a few dishes at Tabla were off and I barely ate anything there... as a result I wound up getting fairly tanked only half way through the meal. My notes for this suck but I decided to put them up anyway. I think my overall impressions of the wines were right on target for me, but my descriptions are short and just not very descriptive. Another big part of that was the simple fact that I love these gatherings and I wound up spending a lot of time just talking to everyone. I got to know some new wine folks and had a great time overall! I definitely look forward to the next one.

1990 Moët & Chandon Champagne Cuvée Dom Pérignon 91 Points

Shows some oaky aromas, but this one's very smooth and elegant on the nose. Quite decedent palate, with nice mouse, mild acid, and a ginger flavor. Pretty creamy flavor notion on the finish, which is deep and lush. It does still show that typical Dom Pérignon oakiness throughout that I'm not much of a fan of, but this is still the best one I've had (by a long stretch).

2001 La Chablisienne Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume Les Vaulorents 89 Points

Crisp, vibrant aromas hinting at a sea shell and a shrimp. Big, rich, decedent palate with some funkiness. Spicy acids, but mild.. something's kind of strange about the palate, and I think this is showing the slightest hints of early pre-mox. The finish shows some high acids, with rich, long, fairly mild finish.

2005 Domaine / Maison Vincent Girardin Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet 92 Points

Some funky tropical aromas, but impeccable balance and lush, soft texture overall. I can smell the grace on this wine. The palate offers impressive depth of tart flavors with a real presence to itself. Very nice depth on the finish, with great acids. This was a very graceful and elegant wine, drinking pretty well for such a youngin.

2005 Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot 91 Points

Very spicy oak aromas, but I quite like it. Vibrant fruit on palate entry on this deliciously soft wine with nice spice. Intense finish, with spice, slight alcohol, and fairly tight finish. Still, pretty nice.

1987 Domaine Dujac Clos de la Roche 87 Points

This one was definitely feeling very tired, but not completely gone. The aromas were quite muted, but with additional air it did open up with slight earth and light red fruits. Again quiet on the palate, which was soft and still expressed plenty of tannic presence. As is often the case in years like this, the tannins appear to have out lived the fruit, as it's really the dominant play and one struggles to pull out much real flavor. The texture of the wine "feels" balanced, but the flavors are definitely too slight.

1994 Domaine Dujac Clos de la Roche 89 Points

I align with the Burghound on this one. The aromas are incredibly herbal and savory, with lots of spice. Pretty nice stuff. The palate is soft and spicy, with lots of tannins building. Tart, grippy palate and a bit closed. The finish offers lots of spice and acid, and slight bits of funk. Considering the vintage, this is quite good. Would have loved to see how the Dujacs would fair for the group blind.

Incredibly forward aromas; very fruity, with some mild fruits. Seems modern (but nice), especially for something with 17 years of age on it. The palate is very up front, and really nice; soft. Some pleasing fruit, but still feels modern and forward. Quite tart tannins build. Spicy fruit on the finish, with large tannins, fruit, and tartness. Pretty interesting, but for some reason I didn't write down a score. I recall somewhere in the 88-89 range.

Rich and decedent aromas. Very nice and soft. The palate shows more decadency, primarily in the realm of its soft fruit, and overall impressive balance. The exuberance of the fruit all the while remaining restrained is impressive. Nice acids carry into the finish as well. This is a very very nice Clos des Mouches; the best vintage I've had.

Slightly funky nose, showing some softness and nice earthy aromas. There's nice fruit on the palate, coupled with some spice. Funky here too. Mushroomy finish, with nice fruit and good tartness. Pleasing spice. Nice stuff, but should sit for a few more years. 90+

Funky aromas, with some spice. Pretty nice, though. Palate is very spicy and funky, but overall quite pleasing. Balanced and integrated, drinking well today.

Very earthy aromas. It's funky, but quite nice, with plenty of red fruit poking through the soil tones. The palate is very spicy and showing really nice balance on the palate. Very nice blend of spice and earth, yet on a very soft, integrated frame. Plenty of acid on the finish. Very spicy and nice. Beautifully balanced. Probably the most ready (and not over the hill), in balance red of the night. I wish this was blind as well, as it was mine.

Very spicy and tart aromas. Nice and balanced. The palate is earthy and very nice, but still showings ripe fruit. Juicy finish with good fruit throughout.

2003 Château Suduiraut 92 Points

Delicious aromas, with tons of forward fruit, primarily pineapple and tart peaches. The palate is very rich and exuberant, though soft and balanced with good acid. Delicious finish and quite well balanced despite its youth. Nice texture. I usually don't enjoy young Sauternes as much as this.
