2009 Montée de Tonerre 1er Cru—Green apple with lots of butterscotch. We tried to describe butterscotch to Pascale but it doesn’t exist in France. She called in another employee who is English. She confirmed out butterscotch diagnosis. Obviously from a warmer site than Butteaux but still great.

2009 Butteaux 1er Cru—A little closed. Again that dead “clay” middle. Mouthwatering acidity, obviously a cooler climate site.

2008 Vaudesir Grand Cru—So much depth. The citrus and green apple is present but secondary to flinty earth. Great acidity. Very zingy on the finish.
