2010 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Tradition Blanc. Oh yeah! Nice acidity. Lemon and a creaminess like quince or pear.

2009 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Prestige Blanc—Very thick mouthfeel. Lots of honeysuckle up front but with an apricot pit bitterness on the finish.

2009 Côtes du Rhône Tradition Rouge—Typical black tea/sweet tobacco on the attack. Mix of red but mostly black cherry, black raspberry fruit. Also shows a little strange blueberry.

2009 Côtes du Rhône Terre d’Agille—Ver big. Zingy. Giant black fruits and the usual black tea and smoke. I still think this wine is a steal.

2009 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Tradition Rouge—CdP typique. Very ripe and rich but not a lot of individual character. I would expect a similar profile from many producers in this vintage.

2009 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Chaupin—I just saw Jesus! This is so wonderful. In spite of being 100% Grenache it has full-bodied black fruits. So much complexity. Camphor, toast, wild blackberry, cedar, black tea, Indian spices. Slightly sweet finish.

2009 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vielles Vignes—So closed but oh so good. Cassis, blackberry, toast, light smoke. Drying tannins on the finish. Finish goes for 2+ minutes. Didn’t spit a drop of this. Carried it around while Isabelle gave us the cellar tour. Changed very little in 30ish minutes. Needs TIME!
