Oregon Pinot Noirs; 2010 vintage

'10 Brickhouse, Evelyn’s Vineyard was the clear WOTN, and at $65 will kick sand in the face of most $150 Grand Crus out there (95+ pts)
'10 Crowley, Willamette Valley was the top QPV at $24 (90 pts)

By all of the accounts that I have read, the 2010 vintage for Oregon Pinots is going to see limited production; with some of the best age-worthy wines that we have ever seen, but will also see a lot of mediocre. With the 2010 vintage seeing a late start to the growing season, but also late harvest, the quality was won and lost out in the vineyards. This was very apparent in the 2010 tastings today. Alot of producers got very close to excellent, but for many, the high acidity threw would-be greats out of balance and out of whack. However, for those who got it right, WOW, there were some home runs hit tonight.
