A tasting of 6 wines from Greece. Overall - stunning. For wine aficionados seeking acid driven but phenolically ripe wines, these maybe unparalleled. I am a convert. As with the Rose'.
2010 Tselepos Moschofilero Mantinia 90 Points

Wine of Greece live tasting
100% Moschofilero. A stunning 12.5% alc.
A floral nose reminiscent of Moscato and Viognier.
In the mouth however, its more Sauvignon Blanc like, crisp and bright. Bright white peach, lemon. Some minerality mid palate.
Clean lingering wonderful finish.
Make sure do not serve overchilled.

2011 Santo Wines Assyrtiko Santorini 92 Points

Wines of Greece live tasting.
A dense, viscous white wine. 13.5% alc.
Great nose of floral and citrus.
In the mouth, nice stone fruit, lemon, minerality.
An amazing, lingeingr finish and acidity.
Love, and recommend. Pair with a variety of dishes, will stand up to many food types.

Wines of Greece live tasting. Malagousia. 12.5 % alc.
Reminiscent of French Viognier/Condrieu
Medium/Dark yellow color.
Nose of white flower, stone fruit, peach.
Viscous texture in the mouth that goes wonderfully with the high acidity. Full bodied ripe fruit in the mouth.
Great value, complex wine. Acid hounds and white geeks will love this.

Perfect overlap - Wines of Greece tasting with my May Rose' panel/series.
13% alc
Color: A medium pink, watermelon flesh.
Clean nose of watermelon, cherry.
Bright & fresh in the mouth, watermelon jolly rancher, strawberry, a wonderful finish.
A wonderful aperitif or summer fare wine. (also good for Thanksgiving!) If you can find this puppy anywhere, buy it.

2007 Boutari Grande Réserve Naoussa 88 Points

Varietal: Xinomavro. 13.5% alc
An interesting Greek red.
Medium red to slightly browning color.
The nose comes across as aged & slightly oxidized, with underlying notes of currant, plum.
Interesting in the mouth; more a geek wine than consumer. Still abundant in tannins, but fruit is receding.
While the tannins will hold up for some time, the fruit profile and color, wonder its longevity.
An interesting wine to explore.

2007 Skouras Agiorgitiko Grande Cuvée 90 Points

Made from 100 Agiorgitikos. Only 13.5% alc.
Dark and powerful, some use of oak.
Deep purple translucent color. (who said light cherry..?)
Nose reminiscent of Bordeaux; dusty, leather, dark red and black fruit, mocha
In The Mouth: More acidity than the nose implies, but still Bordeaux like in some aspects.
Plum, black fruit, black cherry, spice.
Tannins and acidity combine to make a bottle you can lay down for many many more years.
