Bright, crisp, grassy but with depth, good intensity, and a distinctive Italian minerality. Very classy, long finish, really flavorful and great with the Halibut.

Initially I got a (not unpleasing) canned tuna kind of note with orange, pink grapefruit, and tropical fruit notes; good acidity and juicy finish but still complex and well balanced except just a touch hot. Really liked this. Great with the sweet-ish jumbo shrimp on a green sauce.
Beautiful nose of dried flowers, tart cherry, old leather and dried leaves; very silky mouth with subtle fine tannins and just a hint of metalic minerality; this is beyond its peak but not to say it wasn't beautiful and quite elegant. Went incredibly well with the duck slices. With food 91.
France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru
Earth and leather in the nose with a light herbal component; soft and nicely aged at this point; well balanced, good character and a slight "lime" finish was noted. I liked this but it didn't especially excite me.

Classic cassis, blackberry fruit with a lovely perfume of cigar, violets and a slight pot-pour aspect as well as a touch of cocoa powder and even truffles. Stunningly good, everything you want in a Bordeaux in perfect proportions; still a touch austere though, very solid structure without a trace of overextraction or sur-maturite. Second day: even better as the tannins softened up, revealing more chocolate covered black cherry, a little cedar, very silky body, and a lovely cigar infused-floral nose. Great wine.
Deep and brooding with anise; cassis puree, and a touch musty; full tannins and a bit overextracted, this is a burly Haut-Medoc that is quite good, but elegance is not its strong point. Try again in 5 years.
This was pretty dense and tannic and showed more of mushroomy-forest floor aspect along with the classic dark berry fruits. A bit austere but nicely structured, this needs another 5 years. I thought this did not show as well as it ought to.
Dark gold-amber color; lovely nose of creme brulee (emphasis on brulee), caramel, coffee-toffee notes and just a little nutty. Low acidity, structure is not there, soft and medium sweet, but this is still hanging on with plenty of great aged Sauterne character. Maybe 90 for the nose alone.
Aromatic coconut, apricot, honey, tropical fruits; still bright and fresh with excellent acidity and little nutmeg-spice or something on the palate. Excellent medium weight, not overly sweet, good balance and really nice. Still a baby. Very good with the cheese cake and fresh fruits on top (minus the gooey caramel-toffee topping). Stunning bottle.

White flowers, jasmine on the nose with very ripe fruit and just a touch of yellow grass; a little low in acidity, soft, but nicely made.
