A very interesting tasting of Terre Nere Winery from Etna, Sicily.
Perfumed wines which remind Barolo/ Burgundy.

• 2010 Caruso & Minini Sicilia Tasari Nero d'Avola Merlot 88 Points

  Italy, Sicily, Sicilia

  85% Nero D'Avola , 15% Merlot, no oak. On the nose – a lot of very nice fruit. Fresh, with good acidity. Not complex but very well balanced and harmonic. Enjoyable. Excellent value for money.

  Very good! Expressive and complex – citrus and minerals on the nose. Medium bodied and a bitter filling on the finish.

  Light and bright ruby color. Floweriness and berries on the nose. The palate in good harmony with the nose – fruity in the mouth, medium to full bodied, with sticking tannins.

  Like the Caldera Sottana, but with a little more of everything. More expressive on the nose and better structure. The best of the tasting.

  Very similar to the two other Single Vineyards from the winery but much more tannic and hard. It needs more time to soften.
