Flight 1 - Starter Wine (1 Note)

  • 2007 Mumm Napa Pinot Gris The Gallery Collection 90 Points

    USA, California, Napa Valley

    Very pale gold color. Popped and poured, drank 2 glasses over 40 minutes. Nose is fresh and lively, bright minerality, apples, hints of spice and earth. The palate is very clean and refreshing, decent acid, apple, citrus, medium finish. Great summer wine.

Flight 2 - Steak Wines (2 Notes)

  • 2004 Alexander Valley Vineyards Cyrus 93 Points

    USA, California, Sonoma County, Alexander Valley

    Very dark red color. Pop and pour with aeration. Drank 2+ glasses over 2 hours. Nose is stellar, ripe fruits of cassis, blackberry, , lovely floral notes, earth, vanilla, nutmeg. The palate is full bodied, layered black fruits, velvety integrated tannins, a hint of tobacco. Impeccably balanced, long finish. My WOTN.

  • 2004 Anderson's Conn Valley Vineyards Right Bank 91 Points

    USA, California, Napa Valley

    dark red color. Decanted about 1.5hrs. Drank 2 glasses over 2 hours. Nose is nice, bit of funk, earthy, black cherry, cherry, some currants, spices, oak. The palate is medium bodied, a bit thin on the mid palate, minerals, black cherry, firm tannins, spicy with oak on the finish. Nose exceeds the palate.

Flight 3 - Dessert Wine (1 Note)

  • 2003 Château Bel-Air Sainte Croix du Mont Vieilles Vignes 90 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Entre-Deux-Mers, Sainte Croix du Mont

    Very dark gold. Pop and pour, drank 1+ glasses over 30 minutes. Nose shows grapefruit, apricot, spices. The palate is viscous, dense, consistent with nice fruits, good acid and overall balance. Very easy drinker. Nice QPR, 90+pts.

Great fun, all the wines showed well. WOTN was the 2004 Cyrus.
