Introduction
Another great offline at the club and the food was perfect along with the service. Not a bad wine in the bunch and the Leeuwin edged out the Fevre for wine of the night. I was disappointed in my Kistler.

Very nice with apple, chalk, strawberry and orange peel. Balanced effort and at $29 a very good N.V. effort.

2008 Dönnhoff Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle Riesling Spätlese 94 Points

Super light in color, almost clear. Apricots, floral, peaches and super balanced. A touch of sweetness but this should really age into an amazing wine in a decade or enjoy right now!

2004 Kientzler Riesling Geisberg 92 Points

Different than the Donnhoff but enjoyable. Lemon, spice, minerals, candied fruits and white pepper. Medium finish and drinking well now. Drink now through 2015.

2007 Leeuwin Estate Chardonnay Art Series 93 Points

The groups wine of the night and my second. Light yellow with lemon, pinneapple, light oak and vanilla. A rich wine with plenty to offer now or hold for five years. Medium finish.

2007 Kistler Chardonnay Vine Hill Vineyard 90 Points

Not up to standards. Oak, smoke, pinneapple and a burnt quality that was hard to get around. Hopefully this needs time but for the price tag not a great wine. 90-92.

2005 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos 93 Points

Very nice wine with shells, minerals, orange peel and lemon. A light style compared to other vintages. Elegant and good acidity. Drink over the next five years.

2001 Château Sigalas Rabaud 93 Points

Very nice young Sauternes. Apricots, minerals, honey and peach. Thick texture and medium, concentrated finish. This should cellar for a decade or more.
