2008 Faiveley Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos

Bright citrus aromas, slight spice. Intense and impressive on palate with lemon, lemon zest, lots of acid and minerality. Powerful and long. Worth seeking out.

2008 Faiveley Bâtard-Montrachet

Perfumed, alluring start with oak hints. Powerful fruit supported by great minerality and acidity. Clean, dense finish. 95 point potential for me today. My favorite wine tasted today at the Domaine.

Rich, fat and powerful aromas. Lush stone fruit to start, with a sweet and powerful character. Long finish that isn't yet perfectly integrated, but I will be excited to try again in another 5 years.

Bright red fruit aromas and flavors, with fairly firm tannins today in forefront on palate. Give this 4+ years in cellar.

Bright red fruit aromas with spice hints. Good balance and integration already. A definite step up for me from the Framboisiere just tasted.

2008 Faiveley Pommard 1er Cru Les Rugiens

Impressive and elegant young Pommard. Red and black cherry with faint new oak spice aromas. Similar fruit on palate with lots of good texture and charm, none of the rugged elements that too often make younger Pommard unattractive.

Very impressive overall, in fact my favorite Faiveley red today for its level. Charming floral start.Dark fruit aromas and flavors, lots of power with great density for 1er. Long finish. Worth seeking out.

2008 Faiveley Latricières-Chambertin

Black cherry and classic animale Gevrey character on nose. Good black cherry on palate with fresh herb flavors. Good power, density and structure. This will need some time in the cellar but has great raw materials.

2008 Faiveley Corton-Clos des Cortons Faiveley
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton Grand Cru
Dark cherry and spice aromas. Lean fruit on palate with good breadth and depth. A bit backward. While this is often the red most identified with Faiveley, today I preferred their 2008 reds from Gevrey-Chambertin.
