France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru

Off Midsummer House list. Mid straw. initially a ripe, floral and slightly tropical note to the nose, firming up to show a slightly mineral but overall largely balanced and restrained nose with just a hint of custard tart. Quite weighty in the mouth, though less so than PYCM's version of this last week, and a slight viscosity in the glass. Correct and quite well behaved, but lacking flair. ***
