Introduction

All well aged Bordeaux and we finished with a 1984 Port.

Flight 1 - Drank at Restaurant (2 Notes)

  • 1975 Château Pichon-Longueville Baron 91 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac

Didn't expect much but this wine has outdone me. It has kept in much better shape than I have! Unbelievable notes of minerals, soil, leather, and such a sense of place. Mmmm... it's like drinking Pauillac itself. It's still lively on the palate, and there are still some tannins left. Finish is mid-length. Enjoyed this very much.

  • 1982 Château Marquis d'Alesme 92 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux

Love how Bordeaux can age, slowly and gracefully. Loved this.

Flight 2 - Drank at home (2 Notes)

  • 1988 Château Talbot 90 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Saint-Julien

Garnet red in color. Earthy, dark fruits and a bit of funk on the nose. Soft on the palate, ripe tannin. Finish is shorter than expected. Not as good as the Marquis d'Alesme but still a very enjoyable wine and a respectable effort.

  • 1996 Château Beau-Séjour Bécot 89 Points

France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Saint-Émilion Grand Cru

Glad I drank this. It's not getting any better. The cellar is not a hospital guys. Drink up!
