Introduction
My very patient and beautiful wife hit a milestone this year, so we had a get together with some family and friends. Domino chose some bottles to open, I threw in a couple of surpises, and our generous friends contributed a few bottles as well. Thanks everyone for helping make Domino's evening a memorable one.
My brief notes/impressions from memory...
2010 Merry Edwards Sauvignon Blanc 91 Points
USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley
Bright straw yellow color. Lime zest, lemongrass and floral qualities. Piercing acidity; lithe & racy. Citrus and subtle grassy notes without the overly green/grassy notes I disliked last fall. Questionable value though, as I think you can do equally as well for quite a bit less coin.

1989 Château Beychevelle 94 Points
France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Saint-Julien
From magnum. Deep crimson color. Leather, tobacco, plum and dark fruit; hints of funk and roasted herbs. Balanced; red fruit and earth tones on the palate; long finish. Drinking very well & will hold for a good while in this format. 94+ pts.

2004 Pride Mountain Vineyards Merlot 90 Points

From magnum. Had a stewed red fruit quality on opening- needed to be decanted. Red fruit, chcocolate and herb notes. Balanced; nice red fruit tones on the palate. SLightly chalky tannins.

Deep crimson core. Plum, leather, tobacco and blackberry aromas. Balanced; velvety mouthfeel. Dark fruit, leather and sandalwood qualities on the palate. Long finish. Youthful. 94 pts.

From magnum. Red color. Spice, white pepper, laevnder and red fruit aromas. White pepper & spice tones on the palate. Medium+ finish; dusty tannins; nice acidity.

Bottle #2 was just fine. Red fruit, white pepper, black fruit and roasted game aromas. Balanced, with red fruit and spice tones on the palate. Lovely.

2002 Kistler Chardonnay Dutton Ranch 89 Points

Courtesy of Otis. Crimson color. Mint, black fruits and leather; some chocolate too. Well-balanced, with nice integration and flavors of red fruit, sandalwood, baking spices and cherry. Long finish; hints of mint and black fruit. 93+ pts.

2000 Château Mouton Rothschild Le Petit Mouton de Mouton Rothschild 90 Points

From magnum, courtesy of Rich & Dana. Deep crimson color. Red currants, graphite, spice and black fruit. Medium tannins; flavors of red and black fruit mix nicely on the palate. Roasted herb and subtle earthy tones too.
