France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru
Ripe peach and apple to start with a slight floral and minty background aromas. Similar fruit on palate, still showing some new oak that will take another couple of years to fully resolve.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Grands-Echezeaux Grand Cru
Alluring sweet cherry pie spice to start, complemented with some wild strawberry aromas. Very elegantly textured on palate, also showing red cherry and strawberry and same baking spice profile. Fresh, elegant, very energetic and accessible. Very good length.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Montrachet Grand Cru
Very dark color for its age. Advanced and caramelized tropical fruit aromas. Great lush fruit on palate, bordering between ripe tropical and stone fruit flavors. Great concentration but very advanced. If served blind, I would have thought this perhaps a decade older. I am obviously glad this bottle was opened today and i had the opportunity to taste it; it also would have been terrible for this bottle to be cellared another decade and evolve in an unattractive direction. For me, the fundamental raw materials came across as a "95 point" wine, but its maturity and advancement make me consider this a "92 or 93 point" wine today.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Black fruit aromas, modest spice. Same on palate with great concentration, but very firmly structured and not particularly providing much pleasure at present. Big fruit on finish. Still needs 5-10 more years in cellar before really worth opening.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Romanée St. Vivant Grand Cru
Red and black cherry aromas with plenty of spice support. Similar on palate. Not as forward or lush as the DRC 2000 Grands-Echezeaux also just tasted, but more powerful and long. It is not clear which is more ageworthy. Great spice emerges on finish.

1984 Diamond Creek Cabernet Sauvignon Red Rock Terrace 90 Points
USA, California, Napa Valley, Diamond Mountain
Black currant and plum on nose that comes across with a very dense, meaty character. Nicely mature, but still a bit too firmly structured.
