  • 1950 Védrenne-Orluc Chambertin 94 Points

    France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin Grand Cru

    Lots of sediments, mature light brownish colour with mahogany tinge. It has expressive bouquet, complex with plenty of secondary notes of soy sauce, tobacco and earth with some dark cherry as well.
    Very impressive palate as it does not taste like a 60 yrs old wine, it takes about 1+hr to open up, robust and carry amazing bodied, showing black currant, cherry, tobacco and soil. It has long persistent finish with vibrant acidity while tannins has fully resolve.

  • 1985 Château Ausone 91 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Saint-Émilion Grand Cru

    Vibrant dark colour with matured mahogany hue. It has a subtle bouquet of tobacco, floral notes, blackcurrant, cherry and touch of cedar. Quite an elegant nose. Still very close on palate after half an hour in the glass. It is fresh on palate with mineral, cherry and tobacco. Showing very good structure here. Long finish with fine subtle tannins.
    It is a very good wine but I don't enjoy it as much as my companions and think that the 1950 Burg is better.

  • 1979 Château Léoville Las Cases 92 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Saint-Julien

    Dark garnet red, still has vibrant and young appearance with some brick red hue started to form. Still tight when opened and need some times to open up for business. Herbaceous and medicinal nose when opened, but later with some air it opens up to nice bouquet of tobacco, black fruits and dried fruits. Very good bodied with black fruits and tobacco. Long aftertaste with fresh acidity and fine chewy tannins.

  • 1986 Patrick Jasmin Côte-Rôtie 89 Points

    France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Côte-Rôtie

    Clear light brownish colour and look like a fully mature wine. Showing nose of earth, tobacco and dusty notes. A bit light on palate but still good and fresh, with dried fruits and mineral. Medium finish with fine tannins.
    This is not at the same level of other wines but it is nonetheless a good wine.
