Australia, South Australia, Fleurieu, McLaren Vale
Blind tasting. Big New world aromas to start, entirely fruit dominant. Bright fruit that is slightly simple, but also with good acidity and energy. Moderate length. 70% Grenache, 20% Shiraz, 10% Mouvedre.
Blind tasting. Super concentrated, jammy aromas. Fruit dominant with plenty of massive black fruit, but little acidity so seemingly short on structure for the weight of the fruit. Jammy finish with a smoky character. Others liked this more than I did tonight.

Blind tasting. Dense black fruit aromas with spice hints. Same big black fruit flavors that drink well young and a slightly sweet finish. Good balance overall.
Australia, South Australia, Fleurieu, McLaren Vale
Blind tasting. Modest aromas to start with elegant fruit and spice. This comes across as very balanced and fairly elegant with good structure, acidity and minerality. 65% Grenache, 35% Shiraz.
Blind tasting. Youthful, vibrant red fruit aromas with a good dose of oak spice. Same profile on palate, somewhat simple but nicely balanced and not jammy and/or hot like too many 2003s.
Blind tasting. Dark fruit aromas with vanilla and espresso. Black and red fruit on palate with same oak spice. Fairly tannic. Better in a couple of years.
Blind tasting. Clearly showing New World aromas to start with ultra-ripe fruit and signs of high alcohol. All black fruit, lush and slightly sweet, all very good but without much nuance or charm for me. Others enjoyed this more than I did tonight.
Blind tasting. Bright red and black fruit aromas. Intense fruit, great concentration on palate. Lots of extract and structure provides length and nuance. Needs time.
