Medium yellow. Some toast and lemon. Medium weight, much less palate impression than the Selosse. Straightforward, a little yeast. Very good but unexciting compared to what preceded it. On the other hand, well structured without stigmata of overripeness.
Medium color without any trace of maturity. Clove, incense and strawberry. Medium bodied, on the full side for Volnay. Remarkably lively fruit mixed with herbs. Good acidity and some finishing earth. Marvelous bottle whose only shortcoming is lacking the precision of the greatest examples of Taillepieds, but that is just splitting hairs-this was an absolute treat.
