Marinated Pork with grape reduction. Polenta with sauteed mushrooms, and slice of bread to mop it all up.

Dessert - AMAZING layered expresso and lemon zest Pannacotta with a Blackberry coulis.

  • 2002 Kistler Chardonnay McCrea Vineyard

    USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Mountain

    Bright gold color, still young looking. I can understand why Kistler is popular, it's a very complex chardonnay. Flavors are tree fruit, pear, and a hint of clove, almond, and salted butter. Mouthfeel is leaning towards a heavyweight, real glycerin type feel to it. Fruit is bright and powerful. This is holding up very well.

  • 2008 Sonoma-Cutrer Pinot Noir Russian River Valley 88 Points

    USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley

    Dark plum color. Sweet dark fruit nose, classic RRV pinot, with touch of earth. Palate is nice, dark fruit, medium/- acidity, and medium/- mouthfeel. Nice mix of fruit and funky pinot goodness.

  • 2006 Herman Story Grenache 90 Points

    USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Barbara County

    Based on previous experience I decanted for 3 hours before serving. There is heat on the PnP but decanting gives it a chance to blow off. Color is dark plum and purple but is starting to lighten around the edges. Nose is stewed plums and light toasted oak. Palate is definitely fruit forward, as expected, but it's not syrupy or jammy and no signs of prune. Oak shows as turpin but in moderation. Really nice grenache and good QPR.

  • 2001 Lancaster Estate Red Wine

    USA, California, Sonoma County, Alexander Valley

    Straight from the right bank and well done. Nose is very complex, currant, cedar, and dusty notes. Palate is very good, with all the varietals contributing in the blend. Graphite, cedar, and dusty flavors really make a difference. Tannins still firm, this could sit another 10 years. Oddly, Chris didn't enjoy this bottle because of all the aspects that made it so attractive to everyone else.
