Nose of Play Dough. The palate had strong structure and a very fine mousse. Overall I found this to be short and fairly nondescript.

I smelled this on in my sinuses. Tingly is not strong enough a word. It simple attacked my nose. The palate was huge, deep, and simply awesome. This offers everything you could want in an young Champagne. I must get more. This was my bottle.

The nose was yeasty and a bit oxidized. It had a strong sherry element. The palate had a distinct barleywine element. NR

The nose was intense with beef blood and iron. The palate was thick and lush with tastes of beef blood, sweet fruit, and spice. This really needs more age though it showed signs of opening. Well balanced. I would have liked to have spent an evening with this.

The nose showed brown sugar, herbs, heather, and baking spices. The palate was sweet with losts of acid. Very closed. This really needed some air.

Once the bag was removed, I really wished we could have spent more time with this wine. We had it earlier this fall, and it really improved with hours in the glass. The nose was full of earth and iron with a touch of medicinal cleaning fluid. The palate showed strong tannins, minerals, smoke, tobacco and a touch of astringency. This will age for decades. I need to get more of it.

What a treat. The nose was initially musty but that blew off to reveal a pure exression of strawberries. The palate was all about texture. It was plush and mouth gripping. It continued to improve in the glass, showing strawberry and earth. I was concinced it was Burgundy but I had the vintage off by 53 years. Wow.

I love this wine. The nose showed candied blackberries and lead pencil. The palate is huge with tons of minerals, spices, and tannins. My favorite part about this wine is the spicy, mouthgripping tannins. I love the assertiveness of it.

This was far more open and approachable then the 89. The nose was sweet and smoky. The palate was well balanced but young and explosive. If you like fruit forward wines that are still pure Bordeaux, this is for you.

The nose was smoky and gamy with notes of cedar. The palate is sweet and fairly well balanced until the slightly choppy finish. To me this wine was very closed and only beginning to show its greatness.

I had no clue that this was New World. It was simply awesome. The nose showed chalk, smoke, and funk. The palate was enormous and seamless. Despite its size it was in perfect balance wiht awesome fruit and spicy tannins. This is the best domestic wine I have had. I need to open my 97.

The nose showed leather, smoke, and spice. The palate was thick, smooth and in wonderful balance. As I sipped this wine it seemed to build and build and build. I am not sure I have encountered a deeper more complex wine. Awesome.

The nose showed roasted hazelnuts and seawater. The palate was smoky , candied and a bit tight. The best part of the wine was the endless butterscotch finish. As this wine warmed up it became a bit choppier, and I noticed some heat.

The nose showed wet stones and popcorn. The palate is thick, powerful and moutcoating. As it warmed it continued to open up. I was convinced this was a Burg.
