Nina's first great dinner for Pappii

Nina invited her siblings and father to a fantastic culinary journey.

With such a great Cava, it's easy to stumble. Nina's creation got wings, and that's quite something. Green pea soup with apple and hidden bacon as surprise and salty element.

Boiled green asparagus with lemon pesto and ham. Fish:Loach/char (Salvelinus umbla) and baked potatoes. The 2008 Georg Breuer Riesling Terra Montosa was the only bottle to be emptied with pleasure during the course of the dinner (5 ppl). A marvelous bottle that will only get better for a decent number of years (3 more to go.) The Sancerre showed off its minerality so that all my kids at least got THAT character trait right.

  The first empty bottle of the night and loved by all at the table.

  Crisp, clear SB with ample amounts of wet rocks. Good as usual, but not something to hang in your Christmas tree.

  Almost an excellent wine. Luxurious oak treatment, Chardonnay typicality incl butter and citrus. Well built on the palate with just enough acid. A good wine to drink and decent QPR if you like this style.

The Raspberry wine was a complete disaster and was the 2nd bottle to be emptied - the 1st in the sink. I'm happy to have anticipated it and also brought a run-of-the-mill cheap Pfaltz semi-sweet Riesling of an over-achieving wine. The Raspberry wine was an utter failure. The Mosel made us all smile and enjoy Nina's FANfu*kINGTASTIC Pannacotta with arctic brambles (Rubus arctica) much laughter and happiness. Great ending of a perfect evening.

  A very fine semi sweet drinker that is close to Very Good.
  Straight forward but with a nice Riesling somersault upon exiting.

• 2010 Blaxsta gård Raspberry Reserva 62 Points

  Like a mix of raspberry juice and a little vodka run through a Soda Streamer. Bubbly and completely lacking any kind of elegance or subtlety. This wine may not have been intended to be bubbly, but that's difficult to tell. No information available. It is like a joke of a wine with a SUPER PREMIUM price tag. Avoid!

A fantastic evening. No-one and nothing left wanting. Joel is the next in line to cook for our family dinners. I left while I could still walk and took a taxi to a very good friend's 50th birthday party. Had two cigars and "some" whiskey with him, Jörgen. Home stay on his living room coach. Felt awesome to wake up the next day. As in: "you're-on-TV-and-this-is-a-joke".
