Chestnut dinner

Everyone bought a wine that was supposed to go well with grilled chestnuts, so basically wide open field. Super interesting blind tasting!

  Loads of herbs and spices, autumn leaves, fall notes, leather, chocolate, pencil shavings, rather light but well balanced and long finish

  Fall notes and hay, some primary fruit notes, dark chocolate, blood and slightly mineralic, good balance but a bit shorter than the Tokara 08 directors reserve.

  Very metallic, red and blue berries, black tea, loads of tannin still left, iced peach black tea, roasted hazelnuts, rather light but still very pleasant. i'm quite impressed and really like it!

  Vanilla, peach, banana, huge acidity, really HUGE!! rather light in the palate. This is really off at the moment and I think this will need 4-7 days of staying open in the fridge to open up or another ten years in the bottle, really in an off phase right now

  In the beginning I thought it was corked but that flew off after a little while. almond paste, loads of botrytis, slighly oxidative but not bad. Acetate. Not dissimilar to a Sauternes, very interesting.
