    New Zealand, North Island, Auckland, Kumeu

    Nose: Loads of oak influence, honeydew melon, honey and butter.
    Palate: Pineapple, honeydew melon and a lovely acidity.
    Impressive.

  • 2009 Hamilton Russell Vineyards Chardonnay 92 Points

    South Africa, Cape South Coast, Walker Bay, Hemel-en-Aarde Valley

    Nose: Fresh, sweet honeydew melon, wine gums.
    Palate: Honeydew melon mostly. Unfortunately lacks a little acidity but otherwise a nice wine.

    Nose: Intense exotic fruits, a lot of passion fruit, gooseberries, kiwi.
    Palate: Gooseberries, kiwi, solid fresh acidity. A little light bodied.

    Nose: Buttermilk, dried plum fruit, coffee.
    Palate: A lot of tannins, closed fruit (plums and black currant), Lovely acidity and very young!

    Nose: Sewer, coffee, buttermilk, black currant.
    Palate: fresh and light plum and black currant fruit. Lacks some backbone but otherwise an okay wine.

    Nose: red roses, black currant.
    Palate: Very dense and packed with black currant fruit and a huge structure but still not overdone.

    Nose: Black currant and coffee, good intensity, a little buttermilk.
    Palate: Intense black currant and quite dry in the end. A lot of tannins and perhaps lack a little acidity.

    Plenty and sour cherries on the nose with a lovely hint of sewer and coffee.
    The palate has some creamy sour cherries with not very much. Huge acidity that lingers in a long and impressive aftertaste.

    Nose: Cherries and a lot of sewer.
    Palate: Fresh cherries and a little plum fruit with a nice solid acidity. Good balance but quite a lot of alcohol is showing which is really disappointing.

    France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape

    Lovely sweet black currant nose that is also very complex and the impressions just keep coming: Coffee, sweet tobacco, dried herbs, black tea.
    The palate is equally enticing and also have a lot of complex flavors. Black currant and raspberry fruit mixed with leather and green leaves. A huge tannin and acidity structure that is very impressive for such an old wine! Very complex spices and just a crazy wine!!

  • 1990 Domaine du Pégau Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Réservée 98 Points

    France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape

    Huge nose packed with raspberry, coffee and dark chocolate but also a little sewer and spicy cinnamon.
    Concentrated black cherries on the palate but still without being overdone. Very pure and clean flavors with a massive intensity and a totally insane acidity.
    Great and impressive wine!

    Plum, liquorice, coffee and walnuts on the palate.
