  • 2011 Cazar Pinot Noir 89 Points

    USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley

    Some alcohol like Italian rum soaked cake and red fruit on the nose. Very light colored and a light finish. Nice daily drinker for the price.

  • 2007 Adastra Pinot Noir 90 Points

    USA, California, Napa / Sonoma, Carneros

    No decant. Band aid on the nose, some earth, cinnamon, hints of being French. Also some black cherry on the nose after it has been open for a while. A lot of comments from the tasters about this one and how there wasn't very much pinot about this pinot, but a good wine.

  • 2006 Adastra Pinot Noir Proximus 90 Points

    USA, California, Napa / Sonoma, Carneros

    Drank this side by side with the 2007 Adastra pinot. Much more fruit on the nose vs. the regular 2007 Adastra. Much darker in color as well. More red fruit on the nose and no band aid. A nice wine, but glad that I didn't pay $52 for it.

  • 2008 Paratus Cabernet Sauvignon 93 Points

    USA, California, Napa Valley, Mt. Veeder

    Very dry on the finish initially. A lot of wood there. Tannic, but not in a bad way. Drinking well at this point after a 1 hour decant. Big and worth every penny of the $40 paid for this wine at auction.

  • 2006 Coup de Foudre Cabernet Sauvignon 90 Points

    Wheat germ on the nose. Woodie and tannic on the finish. A little bitter on the finish and wasn't sure if I was tasting some sort of metal or not. Ok, but didn't wow me and would have been disappointing if I paid $100 for it.

  • 2008 L'Aventure Estate Cuvée 92 Points

    Last wine of the night and a little bit of a blur. Was nice and enjoyable, but drank without a decant. I think that would have helped. A lot of sugar on the nose and relatively smooth on the finish.
