Flight 1 - • Remelluri Reserva 2006 (1 Note)

  • 2006 La Granja Nuestra Señora de Remelluri Rioja Reserva

    Spain, La Rioja, La Rioja Alavesa, Rioja

    Same wine as I remember, woody but good sense.
    Intoxicating mediterranean forest floor nose of thyme and rosemary .
    Tamed tannins on the palate, gentle and short after all.
    Clearly a food wine that needs some time to come rounded.

    El mismo vino que tengo en mente, amaderado pero en el buen sentido.
    Nariz llena de aromas de sotobosque mediterraneo con tomillo y romero.
    Taninos domados en boca pero amable y corta después de todo.
    Claramente un vino para acompañar la comida que necesita algo de tiempo para afinarase.

Flight 2 - • Viña Tondonia Gran Reserva 1994 (1 Note)

    Too much brownish colour, like a fortified Sherry, brick no-more, watery side.
    Close nose. Reduced.
    After more than an hour some marzipan were showed.
    Oxidised style but succulent at its best.
    Thinking this was a flawed bottle?
    Color demasiado amarronado como un vino generoso,nunca más de color ladrillo, bastante acuoso.
    Nariz cerrada, reducida.
    Después de más de una hora mostró algo de mazapán.
    Estilo oxidado pero suculento en lo mejor.
    Pienso que ¿era? una botella fallida.

Flight 3 - • La Rioja Alta 890 Gran Reserva 1995 (1 Note)

    A beauty.
    Perfect brick colour, close what you have in mind when think about a mature Burgundian Chambolle.
    Feminine nose, elegant and delicate.
    Palate is delicious with a good length.
    Dangerously ready at this point.
    Always my sort of wine.
    A bottle to try before you die. Mandatory.

    Una belleza.
    Perfecto color ladrillo, cerca de lo que tienes en mente cuando piensas en un Chambolle maduro.
    Nariz femenina, elegante y delicada.
    En boca es delicioso con un largo recorrido.
    Peligrosamente listo en esta hora.
    Siempre la clase de vino que me gusta.
    Una botella a probar antes de morir. De verdad.

Flight 4 - • Remirez de Ganuza Gran Reserva 2001 (1 Note)

    Another style, more opulent, bigger but full of distinction and character at the same time.
    With this nose, I felt self transported back to Samaniego instead. Little close anyway but promised.
    Palate is modern but with those traditional elements you were looking for in a GR bottle.
    Have real class. Gonna buy one
    No so much good as 04 but this is a long distance runner. Think so. Scored cause that potential.

    Otro estilo, más opulento, más garnde pero, al mismo tiempo, lleno de distinción y caracter.
    Con esta nariz, uno se siente al instante transportado atrás, a Samaniego. Un poco cerrada de todas formas pero prometía.
    La boca es moderna pero con esos elementos tradicionales que estabas buscando en una botella GR.
    Tiene clase de verdad. Voy a comprar una.
    No es tan buena como el 04 pero esta parece ser una corredora de largas distancias. Puntuada por su potencial.

    Infanticide!!! Promise close nose of little thyme.
    Harsh mouthfeel.
    As the Cabaret movie song, tomorrow belongs to it...has the potential to change this situation.
    Originally it was a 05 coming...

    ¡Infanticidio! Nariz cerrada que promete con un poco de tomillo.
    Sensación en boca áspera.
    Como en la canción de la película Cabaret, el mañana le pertence...al menos tiene el potencial para cambiar esta situación.
    Originalmente iba a ser un 05....

    So much young...
    Nose of cologne, woody
    Tasty but, at this point, a tannic best.
    Must think that one 05 I own will be ready at 2.030, en mi modesta opinión.

    Demasiado joven...
    Nariz a colonia, amaderada.
    Sabosa pero en este momento una bestia tánica.
    Debes saber que el 05 que tengo estará preparado en el año 2.030, en mi modesta opinión.
