2007 Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe Châteauneuf-du-Pape La Crau
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Red cherry fruits, licorice, some black pepper. Elegant , Burgundian, sexy. Very good but young. Will wait 5 years for the next one.

2001 Beaulieu Vineyard Tapestry Reserve

Licorice, dark fruits, shoe polish aroma, blackberries, earth, eucalyptus, cedar, mint. New world flavors, but a little tart and dry like an old world wine.

Jammy red fruits, spice, olive, a little bit of alcohol showing on the nose. Lots of fruit. Very young. Hold 3-5 years before drinking. Ann's favorite of the night.

2005 Quinta do Crasto Douro Reserva Old Vines

Earthy, dry, rich. Will wait a couple years before opening my last bottle. This held up well overnight and showed more softly the next day, with dark fruits and a little earth.
