• 2009 Domaine Muré Pinot Blanc Signature

  France, Alsace

  Nose: Melon, stone fruit, Plasticine
  Mouth: Medium minus flavour intensity, melon, slight citric tang, persistent and linear in the mouth...slight bitterness is introduced on the finish and there is some front of palate phenolic grip

• 2010 Domaine Thomas & Fils Sancerre Le Pierrier

  France, Loire Valley, Upper Loire, Sancerre

  Nose: Slight gooseberry, slight mineral spice, sulphurous notes
  Mouth: Tart, bitter, front of mouth grip.
  Meh.

• 2010 Domaine Billaud-Simon Chablis

  France, Burgundy, Chablis

  Nose: Medium minus intensity, slight butter and orchard fruit - apples and pear
  Mouth: Savoury, phenolic grip...touches of oak, young...apple and pear and hints of cinnamon on the medium plus finish.

• 2009 Domaine Michelot Bourgogne Blanc

  France, Burgundy, Bourgogne Blanc

  Nose: Farmyard, sulphur - struck match
  Mouth: Juicy apple that diminishes rapidly.

• 2008 Domaine Michelot Meursault 1er Cru Les Genevrières

  France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru

  Nose: Farmyard, sulphur which blow away to reveal cream, butter, yoghurt and touches of yeast extract
  Mouth: Quite a lot of butter, cream...lacks fruit...

I must confess that I was disappointed by these wines, with the exception of the Billaud Simon Chablis (though this was, at AUD 33, expensive for what it was)
