Simple, entry-level wine. Okay for quaffing, but not one I would buy. I did not quite like the nose, with its sweet stone-fruited aromas of canned peaches and nectarines - a bit sickly sweet smelling. Better on the palate though, with a nice amount of juicy, lemon acidity running through more sweet, peachy stone-fruited notes. Exceedingly simple, and it needede a bit more cut and focus, especially at its short, slightly flabby finish, but otherwise, pretty okay balance. All in all, not disastrous, just not that good either.

It showed off its Tuscan origins very nicely, with a nose of green Italian herbs and fresh tomato aromas along with a nice waft of fresh cherries and green berries, and perhaps just a toss of dried earth running alongside. The palate was rather simple, but nicely fresh, with lots of tomato-ey acidity running though plummy fruit on the attack shading into brighter black cherry flavours on the midpalate. It finished with a nice twist of herb flavours riding over some firmish tannins and a touch of woody oak. All in all, a simple but pleasant wine that went quite nicely with our smoke Christmas ham.
