Verzy Grand Cru, 90% PInot Noir, 10% Chardonnay. Clearly a rosé de saignée, lovely fresh ripe Pinot fruit (orange, pink grapefruit), young and vibrant, good length and minerality, perhaps a touch primary.
Average vine age 35 years, 40% vin de reserve, vinified in barrique and aged on the fine lees for 6 months, partial malo, disgorged March 2012, no dosage. Very clean and crisp, flowers and minerals, precise, dry but not austere, elegant but not very complex; good length.
A blend of 47% Pinot Noir, 39% Chardonnay and 14% Pinot Meunier; 72% 2008, 28% 2007, family-owned vineyards in the Montagne de Reims, 3+ years sur lattes. Fresh, fruit-driven, hints of nuts and fishiness, nice bitters, quite linear, some complexity, hint of custard, good length.
A blend of 60% Pinot Meunier, 15% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay, disgorged July 2012. Clearly a higher dosage than in the wines that came before, fruity and forward, rounded, lovely Meunier spice, a bit soft and fuzzy, nice length. A steal at Bubbledogs for £ 6.50.
