The wine finishes Long. Possesses great minerality and acidity. David Long said = parts New Oak, Neutral Oak(3 yrs old), and Stainless. A Superb Chardonnay.

  David told us how in creating a Bordeaux Blend he disliked Malbec, and how by accident he came to add Sangiovese. Originally he was going to call it Red Table Wine, but his brother Bob advised him he would sell little, and subsequently suggested Meritaggio!

  David said this wine is from his favorite group of rows in the vineyard. Again, brother Bob, had the foresight to ask David what was their Elevation in Vineyard, leading to the designation. Feminine elegance, ranks with the best Napa has to offer.

AGREAT SHOWING OF A GREAT WINE ESTATE!!! Thank you David, Adriana, and Geoff.
As a footnote I asked David if he knew Andre Tchellistcheff. He said he didn't personally, but that Tchellistcheff was the one who originally advised his father to buy the property which is today DAVID ARTHUR VINEYARDS!
He also advised Lodivico Antinori to aquire the 8 acres adjacent to Ornellaia as being perfect for Merlot(MASSETO)! In the 70 I acquired a case of his last vintage ofBV Georges Latour. I relished the last bottle in the early 90's.
WHAT A LEGACY. (Incidentally he was shorter and slighter than me.)
