Very good expression of aged brunello. Lots of dried fruit, prunes and cedar on the nose. Complex palate with secondary and tertiary flavours. Clearly fully mature. I woul drink up ASAP. 3 = Vergy Good (just)
A bit weak mid palate, but nicely drinking. I would probably wait two years and will likely drink well for 15 years after that judging by how the 1998 was drinking. 2 = Good
Extremely interesting expression of Merlot. Very full bodied, smoky, complex. Extremely long after taste. It drinks fine, but I would wait a few years before I open the next bottle. 4 = Outstanding

Good expression of Brunello. A bit simple, but nice. Drinks well now, but I would probably leave it for a year or two and then assume it drinks well over a decade or so. 2 = good

A bit dissapointing. It clearly had the full bodiedness, but lacked complexity and wow factor. It was just a bit too unstructured for me. Clearly a nice wine and one I would always be happy to drink, but not quite up there with other producers on the day. 2/3 = Good to Very Good

What an exceptional wine. The nose is very intense and powerful. Dark almost inky in the glass. Extremely full bodied, with so many layers of flavour. Tasted next to the 2003. Very similar notes and intersting to see how the 2003 is integrating and developing. Although it was powerful, it is extremely structured and it has a phenomenal definition. The aftertaste lasts an eternity. Together with the 2003 the wine of the night. The first time I have tasted the Harlequin, and what a discovery. Would wait 5 years before I start opening them, and suspect they will last an eternity. 5 = Exceptional

Very dard and opaque in the glass. The layers of flavours are extraordinary. and the 2003 showed just a touch of development relative to 2006. They are both extraordinary. The aftertaste is very long and pure joy. The first time I have tasted the Harlequin, and it hopefully wont be the last. This is gret stuff. It is ready to drink, but I am sure it will evolve and be phenomenal as secondary and tertiary flavours develop. I would not be surprised if it can last more than 20 years 5 = exceptional

An outstanding amarone with multiple layers and integrated flavours. Powerfull and full bodied with an aftertaste that lasts very long. Quite similar to the 2003 Riserva, but less developed. 3/4 = Very good to outstanding

A tiny bit more refined than the Classico 2006, but more developed and refined. An excellent amarone. Very full bodied and interesting with very well integrated sweetness. It is ready to drink but will probably have a long life ahead of it. 4 = outstanding

Probably at its prime. Secondary flavours dominating. Very nice, but the aftertaste was short lived and it was not that complex. Very nice though. I would drink it up over the coming few years. It is unlikely to get better (but likely weaker). 2=Good

An exceptionally good wine. Very much in line with the 2006 which it was tasted next to. Equally intense and powerful with an enormous body and with extraordinary structure.
