This was pretty nice for a priemier cru. The usual cherries on the nose but with some added interest and a smokey charater. Rich mouthfeel with enough structure to make this one hold up for a while.

The nose was the star of the show on this one. Cherries, earthy notes, a bit of that gamey edge, some nice complexity starting to develop. In the mouth it had good depth, but seemed a touch off balance to me which brought the score down a touch. Still, a worthy effort.

This is what I call a "candy" wine. Rich, elegant, cherry fruit, well balanced, just delicious to drink right now. Not a lot of complexity yet, but may develop.

Nose of cherries and sandalwood with earthy notes. In the mouth, good fruit with flavors of slightly overripe cherries. Structure seemed a bit weak on this one so I'm not sure how well it would fare in the future. But right now it's drinking very well!

This was a gorgeous offering! Started off with that nice funky barnyard nose. Mouthfilling, lush fruit, and a great finish. Slightly more acidic than I would prefer, but I'm fairly sensitive to acidity so that's a minor issue. Overal, a great wine and the best of the night so far!

The nose on this was not as powerful as I remembered from previous tastings, but still showed a lot of depth and complexity. Good balance and a long finish rounded out this delicious wine.

This one has definitely improved since my last tasting. Beautiful, heady aromas of barnyard, sweat, earth and cherries, with loads of complexity and layers. Rich mouthfeel, well balanced, luscious fruit. Yum! Top it off with a finish that won't quit, and this one is a real winner. I'm picking up a few more bottles!

Showed better than the last time I tried it, but still not quite as impressive as the 2002 Camus Mazis-Chambertin from this night's tasting. Good complexity and barnyard on the nose. Intense, rich flavors in the mouth with a slight leaning towards the acidic. This is a big, young wine. While it was not my top for the night, it was pretty damn good and should continue to get better for many years to come.

Loaded with deep notes of cherries on the nose, and full lush fruit in the mouth, this is an excellent, well put together wine that has not yet hit its stride. Big and young, it should be a powerhouse down the road.

This was a "bonus" wine brought by one of the participants at the tasting. For such a young Burg, this has a lot going for it already. Earthy and complex on the nose, spicey, and with a touch of anise. Rich, full mouthfeel, loads of structure, and well balanced. This a a beautiful wine that's still a bit rustic due to its youth, but still with a surprising amount of complexity. This is going to develop into a beauty in the years to come.
