Notes from the organizer:
"Pernand-Vergelesses is off the beaten track, tucked into the fold behind the Corton hill and the main escarpment of the Cote d'Or at the north end of the Cote de Beaune. Its most famous vineyard is the Grand Cru white "En Charlemagne", but most Pernand wine is red. This flight showcases four 2009 reds and four 2010 reds, with one villages wine and seven Premier Crus, all from the renowned "Les Vergelesses" and "Ile de Vergelesses" vineyards."

Light color. Generous fruity nose with a little bit of funk. Light palate. Improved with time in the glass. Still young.

2009 Domaine Chandon de Briailles Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Les Vergelesses 90 Points

Darker than the other Vergelesses in this tasting. Generous nose reminiscent of sweet Christmas candies. Fairly rich palate. My #2 in the tasting tonight.

Modest nose initially, but that opened up nicely after some time in the glass although a little bit hot. Soft palate.

Gorgeous refreshing fruity nose with sweet & spicy Christmas candies and a little bit of funk. Very good palate. Already quite smooth, but definitely needs more time. My WOTN.

Very similar to the 2010 vintage: Gorgeous refreshing fruity nose with sweet & spicy Christmas candies. Very good palate. Already quite smooth, but definitely needs more time.

Quite dark. Slightly different nose when compared to the other Vergelesses in this tasting. fresh, less sweet but more deep. Palate was a little bit harsh upon opening but it improved with time in the glass.
