Brought to the table bright orange in its decanter. Not a promising start. Quite adelhydic on the nose. Great! Gave it ten minutes in the glass just in case, but no, we'll past it.
Suggested as a replacement for a poxed 99 Roulot Charmes and described as being lean, minerally and the least likely of this age on the list to be oxidised. Shouldn't tempt fate! Initial half glass was a pale to mid yellow, some bite and mineral edge to the attack, lightly floral and a relief cf the previous wine. After a quarter of an hour it had darkened visibly, was showing a slightly sweet mildly adelhydic nose and similar characteristics on the palate. Struggled though approx half the bottle, but really not right.

Half bottle recommended instead of a Magnien Marsannay. Round, sweet-fruited but in an elegant, harmonious way rather than cloying/confected. Quite bright. Decent length. Positive. ***
A glass. PX light, really very drinkable and moreish. Lacks the depth and unctuous viscosity of more traditional styles, but in this format worked very well with a pave of chocolate. Sweet, figgy, nutty, a touch of caramel. Persistent. ***1/2
